Tirana, September 24, 2026 — Tiranathlon 2026 will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Helen Park near Farka Lake, bringing together swimming, cycling and running in one of Tirana’s major sporting events.
The race starts at 09:00, while temporary road closures and traffic restrictions will be in place from 08:00 to 13:00 along several routes in eastern Tirana. Changes will also affect selected urban bus lines.

Tiranathlon 2026 Schedule & Key Times
The main event takes place on Sunday, September 27, while athlete registration and bike check-in begin the previous day.

Tiranathlon 2026 Race Categories & Distances
Tiranathlon combines swimming, cycling and running, with two main race distances available: Sprint and Olympic.
Sprint Category
- 🏊 Swim: 750 m
- 🚴 Bike: 20 km – 2 laps
- 🏃 Run: 5 km – 1 lap
- 📏 Total: approximately 25.75 km
Olympic Category
- 🏊 Swim: 1,500 m
- 🚴 Bike: 40 km – 2 laps
- 🏃 Run: 10 km – 2 laps
The swimming and running sections take place around Farka Lake and Helen Park, while the cycling route extends along the Tirana East Ring toward TEG before returning to the transition area.
Road Closures for Tiranathlon 2026
Vehicle traffic will be restricted on Sunday, September 27, from 08:00 to 13:00 to ensure the safe organization of Tiranathlon 2026.
The affected road sections include:
- Daxhit Street – from its intersection with Xhelal Molla Street to the intersection with Vrapëve Street, including Dëshmorët e Helikopterëve Street.
- Zhan D’Ark Boulevard and Bajram Curri Boulevard – including the section from Shkozë Bridge to the bridge at the intersection with Selman Riza Street and Kastriot Feska Street.
- Main interurban road TEG – Shkozë Bridge.
- Great Ring Road – the section from the Fresku Roundabout junction to TEG. Vehicles will be diverted toward the Fresku Roundabout road with an exit onto Xhanfize Keko Street.
Drivers travelling through eastern Tirana are advised to plan alternative routes and allow extra travel time during the restriction period.
Public Transport Changes
The traffic measures will also affect two urban bus services during Tiranathlon 2026:
- Line 10/A – “New Maternity – Center – Former Aviation Field”: temporarily diverted at Brryli Bridge.
- Line 10/C – “Shkozë Roundabout – Former Aviation Field”: temporarily suspended.
Emergency vehicles and State Police vehicles will continue to circulate normally on the affected routes.
Tiranathlon 2026 Route
- Swimming Route
The swimming stage takes place at Farka Lake, next to Helen Park. Sprint competitors complete a 750 m course, while Olympic competitors complete 1,500 m.
- Cycling Route
The cycling section runs from the Farka Lake area along the Tirana East Ring toward TEG. Sprint athletes complete 20 km, while Olympic competitors complete 40 km.
- Running Route
The final stage takes place around the Farka Lake promenade. Sprint competitors run 5 km, while Olympic competitors complete a 10 km course.
Tips for Getting Around Tirana on September 27
- Avoid the affected roads between 08:00 and 13:00 whenever possible.
- Allow extra travel time if you are travelling toward TEG, Shkozë, Farkë or eastern Tirana.
- Check your bus route if you normally use lines 10/A or 10/C.
- Follow temporary traffic signs and police instructions around the race route.
- Consider alternative routes if travelling between central Tirana and the southeastern part of the city.
